Artist's Comments

Yep...self portrait. :)

Thanks so much to *mewaytoblay for all the indescribable support, for getting my lazy ass to do something artistic, for being the best friend and Cloney ever, and for inflating my ego.

I actually really like this one. The colors are bold but still suttle, and the background...I like it a lot. I'll fav it :D

Well you already know I absolutely love this with all my heart. :)

The colors first off--perfect. I'm in love with the background and the dark green and yellow. We really get a nice taste of it near the top of the picture.
The lighting in this is wonderful. I can't believe you said you suck at lighting. Pfft. :p
All the shadows on the right side work beautifully in creating a creepy atmosphere, covering half of you in darkness, but allowing the light to appear just at the right spot so we can read your full expression.
Speaking of the expression, it works so well with this photo. You have a real nact for getting your face to fit the scenery and the feeling of the picture. You look so dead, like a zombie with all the darkness around your eyes and the splotches on your skin. (and yet, you still look so pretty to me. What the hell?) I love how you're looking right at the camera, really connecting with the viewer. I personally get a little shiver through me when I look right into your eyes. It's almost like you're going to come kill me. :giggle:

As I said before, great use of props! I love the way the white bowl and cup stand out against all the more dark, earthy colors. They look so out of place, and that is indeed eerie. And then you have to wonder, where is the child that is supposed to be using that high chair and bowl/cup? Having that incredibly creepy woman sitting right next to it can only leave us to imagine she ATE him!

And I forgot to mention, the large green blanket works very well with this too, blending it with the shadow on the right, and going perfectly with the color of your background.
This is just perfect, IMO. Probably the best thing I've ever seen you do. You NEVER EVER fail to amaze me, I hope you know that. And no, I am not exaggerating. The whole concept is wonderful and the fact you pulled it off like this, with flying colors...I am just so impressed.

I could not tell it was you I looked at the full version of it.
It's excellent as always. I love the rich colours of it, and the fact that it is a little creepy.

you weren't much of a muse,

but then I weren't much of a poet

Mmmm, I\'m loving the sick vibe. Let me just say that you have a wonderful background. ;) It\'s bright and interesting and good clean backgrounds are hard to come by! :wow: I also love the lighting on the wall and the deep contrast you\'ve put yourself in, making you seem dark and infected with teh sickie germs. The high chair also reminds me of being a baby and needing to be taken care of, which is sort of the look you are giving the camera like, \"why isn\'t anyone here cooling my forehead??\" The tissue and blanket pulled towards you are also extremely well placed. Great job!

good picture. you did a really nice job with the lighting.
:iconmrmcpheezy:
Not bad. There are plenty of things other than sitting I'd rather see you doing in a portrait though.
:iconmrmcpheezy:
Oh, and the detail in the wall is fucking amazing.
