This is amazing, my friend. I am so incredibly happy you've created this self portrait.
First of all, love the grain! It gives this a very pencil-drawing feel, gritty yet incredibly detailed.
The lack of colors gives it an old-picture look, something beautiful and ancient, just getting better with time.
And the eyes! They draw me in with their shine and intensity. I love how you're looking right at the camera, really making that connection with the viewer.
The strip of dark across your eyes was an excellent, creative idea...it makes you look very native, like you're from a tribe somewhere. It's exotic in a way, taking away from the casuality of a normal every-day self portrait and giving it something extra and spicey.

Another thing that stands out to me in this, is all the beautiful dark shadow work. I love how we have these really goldish-brown colors with the black, and nothing more. It makes you eyes match your skin, and the shadows emphasize all the more.

Even if you weren't my cloney, I'd feel the same way about this picture. It's amazing cloney...and I hope you never doubt yourself as a photographer, or any other type of artist.

that's lovely! you look so mature! the lips are beautifull and the band of color across the eye feels somehow trible to me. it's all dark and has this "I will bite you if you piss me off" look to it. diffinantly wonderfull! oh and the eyes! the eyes are so lovely and clear, they remind me of cat eyes, except without being creepy and demonic. the whole thing is just. . . wow.

I saw this on Tay's favorites and instantly thought of Native Americans. I have a little bit in my heritage, so this portrait is very intriguing and beautiful.

The overall color of this is amazing. I love the golden brown and the subtle shadows on your cheeks which deepen around your eyes (most likely because of the make-up, but that's perfect!).

This is a very lovely portrait! I wish I had one like it, but alas! I am a disposable camera junkie.
